My two butterfly bushes are going great guns....and attracting loads of swallowtails. Next to the lavender one, these bright, orange blooms made a great contrast. Last year, this "grass" looking plant didn't bloom at all, so I was pleased to see them get back in the game.
A Palmedes Swallowtail enjoys some nectar..
I can never remember the name of this plant! It's blooms are like Amarillos, but they are spikier and do their thing in June and July. It is a tropical plant, it dies back here in the winter, but comes back in the spring.
