River Trip

I went with Darlene and Bill over in MS to take a ride up the Escatawpa ...can't remember what the name of the landing was, but there were several houseboat cabins around.

Our main objective was to see the Osprey and their chicks. ...and we did! Several nests with one or two chicks that looked ready to fledge. The one below actually had 3...two still on the nest and one had made it over to another tree...and was rather unhappy about it.

The mamas were REALLY PISSED when we stopped for a look. They'd take off, circle, make "I'm pissed and I'm BAD" noises at us.

There were interesting other sights up the river, too... like this old snag with bottles decorating it.
This was Father's Day and we watched the granddad, son and cute daughter go off on jet skis.

At the landing, there as a sign "Wake speed", so that the boaters would slow down...as you were leaving the area, there was another sign "Haw Lass"....just say it a couple of times and you'll get it. :-D
