Name That Bird

See that bird on the right? I say it's a Purple finch, given the amount of maroon coloring on it's head and breast. Lisa says it's a house finch. My bird book guide says Purple finches winter around here and the house finches are introductions from the west. Anyone know for sure?

Although this was the best of the photos, I think the bird on the left might be a house finch - female - as it did have a bit of reddish coloring under the chin. Middle bird is a female cardinal.
