Signs of Spring

I have to fill the feeder more often.... for one, the winter birds are here and there's a lot of them...and second, because one of my dogs likes to bump the bottom of the feeder, sending seeds flying everywhere. Then the dogs all rush over and gobble it up leaving none for the ground feeding birds. Poor birdies!

I found this small bushy tree blooming.... I've always called it a Sweetbay, but after trying to find more information on it, I'm not sure it is....but I'm still gonna call it that! Regardless of what it's name really is, it's pretty with shiny leaves and these tiny pinkish blooms.

** Update from Liz, this is Carolina Cherry Laurel...now we all know!

The Carolina Jasmine is really getting showy now with it's long trailing vines filled with yellow flowers.

Looking a lot like spring is just around the corner...
