Bay Front Park

Down a quiet lane in Daphne, is a small park right on the bay. There is also a building available for rental for parties, weddings, etc....but it was the bay views that drew me there today.

There's a nice pier there for fishing and bird watching.

The bit of sand out there provided shore birds a nice resting place.

Pelicans regularly cruise by..

There's a nice boardwalk over streams and creeks to another beach area.

This shy bird was barely visible.

There were swamp beauties in bloom.

The trail comes out on to a gravel lane, then another boardwalk takes you out to a long pier....great for watching birds come sailing by...off to better fishing grounds.

The boardwalk meanders...

...passing by more flowers and bogs....

...and over a crystal clear stream. ( I thought at first, it was muddy from the color)

The neighboring pier was crowded with several varieties of birds.

A view down the bay..

Up the bay towards the interstate bridge.

A pelican trio..

At the gravel lane, this sign was a bit daunting....however, the only creepy critters about were....

..a giant black grasshopper....and...

...an orb spider with a tiny friend.

It is clear that we both really dig the same things! I am so enjoying the way you document the places that you visit. You give me the overall view. You get some close-ups. You catch some action. You don't leave me hanging!
