Winter Amazements

Just as I was beginning to think I'd only find beauty in the white branches of a tree against a blue winter sky....

I found these rose hips from the wild Cherokee rose in the back of the property. Like some strange alien with a round body and tentacles. (My dogs love to eat these after the spiny little thorn thingies fall off.)

Low and behold the wild blueberry bush has started to put out some early blooms, too!

......and on the front porch, I happened to look down at an old Mother-In-Law's Tongue plant and it had a blooming stalk! This is about as showy as it ever gets. I've had this plant since 1978!

Not to be out done, the aloe vera plant also has sent up some blooms on a stalk.

Winter may be here, but there are quiet little pockets of amazing things to see.
