Gulf Coast Side Trip

I went over to Slidell, LA to meet a friend who is loaning me their whelping box. It was way early, I had too much coffee, so I made a stop at the rest stop at the NASA exit. I saw a Giant Swallowtail butterfly, so I grabbed my camera and went in search of it. Didn't get that photo, but the magnolia trees were full of their berries.

.... and couldn't resist the Lunar Lander exhibit.

On the way back, I called my friend, Carrie, who's helping out her son and daughter-in-law with their new baby boy and decided to go by there. On the way, I stopped by a pasture with some horses....this buckskin was quite the camera hog..

..... and my standing by their fence attracted this lovely chestnut.

Moved further down and was followed by my buckskin friend....

Carrie had arrived just before me and one of her granddaughters couldn't wait to tell me she was THREE - notice her hand says FOUR (which she is).

Couldn't leave without a photo of the new baby boy.
