I took some things to donate to the Environmental Center today while I had help and, of course, took my camera along. Although it was a cloudy day, some animals were out and about.
But first...I wanted to see how the bog plants were doing, didn't figure they'd be really at their peak now, but it's always interesting to visit the bog area.

I checked out the raptor area....cute little Screech Owl.

The Bald Eagle. Notice his left wing is damaged? Most all the birds and some mammals are not able to survive in the wild due to injury, so they are kept to help educate.

Handsome Peregrine Falcon.

There were a couple of butterflies out in the bog area.

Pitcher plants were coming along.

Lots of gopher tortoises out and about on this cloudy day. This fella looks like he had a lost weekend and is trying to sleep off the hangover!

Down at the lake, just show up with some Cheerios and the lake comes alive with turtles of all types...and brim, too.

Cheerios brings out the turtles in mass and the feeding frenzy starts.

Doesn't take long for those Cheerios to go bye -bye!
