A Visit To the Turtle Habitat

I was over by Girby Road and made a quick stop at the Environmental Center. I love the turtle habitat there....especially that big koi that lives in the pond with the various turtles.

The leaves, the surrounding fence and the sky make for pretty patterns on the water.

Since the residents are accustomed to being fed, they come out and check whenever you stand in once spot for awhile.

Check out the length of those nails! Pedicure, anyone?

Two way pond traffic...

They have a new habitat at the center for two alligators and an alligator snapping turtle. The alligators aren't much longer than the turtle right now.

With that first photo I had to ask myself, "What is going on here?" I LOVE how the reflections are so crisp that it almost looks like two images superimposed. Very neat! And you know you had me at the alligators!
