Around the Bay

Monday was such a gorgeous day, blue skies, temperature just right - great day for an outing! My neigbhor, Kim, and I decided to go down to Dog River to the River Shack and have lunch. It's also a great place for photos with the boats going by and the fishermen out in boats and on the pier.

The day didn't disappoint, but we discovered the restaurant is closed on Mondays - Bummer! Beautiful and tranquil view of the river and boats though...

There were a couple of fishermen on the pier outside and we noticed this pelican cruising below, hoping for a handout. Hey! Throw me somethin', mister!

...and, sure enough, they did. This must be a veteran moocher, as it was quick to rise to grab a morsel.

Determined to eat lunch looking at the water, we went off to the causeway to Ed's, which is on the causeway and looking south over the bayway and the marsh.

Nothing about but some grackles....no little gators under the deck, nor shorebirds flying by....but a peaceful, idyllic scene to be savored.
