Determined to get a photo of a hummingbird at the feeder, I got my chair and sat by the door. Finally, one bird came and sat, but just as I got the camera focused, another bird showed up and a battle ensued...
The "owner for the day" drove off that bird, but soon there were two more, then three more for the hummer to drive off. They were way too fast for me to catch a photo of them all!
According to my bird book, I think the victor is a female.... they have rounded tail feathers.
She's keeping watch over her prize on a dead banana leaf just below the feeder. Meanwhile with so many hungry birds, I'm going to get out another feeder and make some sugar water and put it out back.
